Simple Chains: Lumber Mod is a pro-difficulty woodworking mod for players who want a more involved lumber chain in RimWorld. Trees now drop raw logs, which must be processed into green lumber and dried before becoming fully usable wood.
Simple Chains: Lumber Mod Features
- Raw logs: Trees now drop raw logs. Some neolithic furniture and early tech production buildings can still be built directly from raw logs.
- Carpentry trestle: Adds a neolithic-to-medieval workbench used for processing logs. The regular vanilla machining workbench can be used later as an industrial solution.
- Firewood: Buildings that use wood as fuel now use firewood instead, which can be prepared at workbenches or crafting spots.
- Lumber processing: Logs are processed into green lumber, then loaded into a drying rack. After a couple of days of drying, they become lumber.
- Vanilla wood replacement: Under the hood, this lumber uses the same definition as vanilla wood, but reskinned. Mods that use wood will use this lumber instead.
FAQ
- Q. The drying racks and trestle requires wood to build, but I’m building these to make wood! A. Both of these can be made out of raw logs instead. If it doesn’t come up as a material option, check that the logs are in storage/home area.
Compatibility notes
Simple Chains: Lumber Mod is not compatible with Expanded Woodworking Mod, as both mods are too similar in their goal.
Simple Chains: Lumber Mod includes a Combat Extended Mod patch.
Simple Chains: Lumber Mod attempts to automatically support mods that add new trees or refuelable buildings.
