Automatic Mod Tester Mod is designed to simplify the process of testing RimWorld mods before publishing them. It automates several steps to speed up mod validation and helps identify potential issues more efficiently. While it’s primarily intended for mod developers, it can be especially useful for those managing large mod lists or running automated testing sessions.
Automatic Mod Tester Mod Features
- Automatically tests your mods by loading a smaller test map (100×100) for faster load times.
- Opens and closes any mod configuration for the test mod automatically.
- Uses the Spawn Mod Content-mod to spawn all items defined in the mod.
- Selects each spawned item in turn to verify they are functioning correctly.
- Closes the game automatically once all items have been checked.
- Instantly exits the game if any warnings or errors occur during testing.
- Adds identifiable prefixes to all warnings and errors in the log for quick detection.
- Creates a TranslationTemplate folder inside the mod’s Source folder containing English translation templates for all Defs.
How to use
- Prepare your mod list outside the game, placing the mod you want to test last in the list.
- Start RimWorld with the -quicktest parameter to launch directly into a default test map.
- The mod will automatically handle the testing sequence as described above.
Compatibility notes
This mod is intended for use by modders and may not provide functionality useful to general players. For most creators, the Spawn Mod Content Mod will be sufficient, but Automatic Mod Tester Mod is ideal for large-scale automated testing scenarios.
