[XND] Watermill Tweaks Mod enhances the vanilla watermill generator by turning it into a more nuanced and dynamic power source. It introduces temperature- and season-based power variations, increases base output, and adds a new river-related incident, making watermills more interesting and strategic compared to other power generators.
This is an update of XeoNovaDan’s mod.
[XND] Watermill Tweaks Features
- Increased base power output: Watermill generators now produce 1400W instead of the vanilla 1100W.
- Temperature-based variation: Power output is reduced at extreme temperatures to simulate viscosity changes and evaporation.
- Seasonal variation: Power output increases by 20% in spring, 10% in fall, and decreases by 30% in winter.
- River type scaling: Cold temperature thresholds vary depending on whether the map has creeks, rivers, large rivers, or huge rivers.
- New incident: Turbulent Waters: A rare event that boosts watermill output by 50% while gradually damaging generators due to debris and stress.
- Environmental weighting: Turbulent Waters is more likely on large and huge rivers, and on maps with high rainfall.
Temperature mechanics
Power production is reduced below 0°C (32°F) and above 50°C (122°F). At 60°C (140°F), output is halved, and at 90°C (194°F) or higher, production stops entirely. Cold thresholds vary by river size.
Technical details
- Powered by the Harmony Patch Library.
- Includes improved in-game descriptions and letter text when turbulent rivers are active.
- Adds support for Vanilla Furniture Expanded – Power.
Compatibility notes
- Can be safely added to existing savegames.
- Removing the mod mid-save may cause issues if Turbulent Waters is currently active.
- Designed to work with all other mods.
- No known hard incompatibilities.
If you encounter issues, test with only [XND] Watermill Tweaks Mod and its requirements enabled. If the problem disappears, reintroduce other mods gradually. Always provide a full output log and clear reproduction steps using the Log Uploader. For best support, use the Discord error-reporting channel. Do not report issues via discussion threads. If you find a fix, please submit it to the GitHub repository. Use RimSort to manage your load order.
