The Wildfire Mod allows fires to run wild by changing how the game reacts to large fires and rain-related weather selection.
Wildfire Mod Features
The Wildfire Mod uses a Harmony patch to remove the identification of large fires when deciding if rain needs to become more relevant as fires progress on the map.
The game has a mechanism where, after a number of fires are detected on a map, the “firewatcher” process will ramp up or progress more rapidly to an alternative weather and try to select rain-styled weather.
The Wildfire Mod turns off that behavior and allows fire to run freely, so weather selection behaves as normal with a more random, biome, and seasonally skewed behavior.
Compatibility notes
The Wildfire Mod can be added and removed from a save game safely.
Includes a mod option to toggle the functionality on and off. There will be a delay if setting it “off” after being “on”, as the firewatcher elements in the game ramp up based on the apparent danger, which is the number of significant fires on the map, periodically.
