Westerado Wilderness Mod

Author of the Westerado Wilderness Mod: mlie

The Westerado Wilderness Mod alters RimWorld’s biomes to give the game a more western-themed feel while trying to maintain vanilla balance. It adds new plants, harsher arid and cold biomes, flowering variants of some vanilla plants, and compatibility improvements for snowy vegetation.

Westerado Wilderness Mod Features

  • Makes alterations to biomes to give the game more of a western theme.
  • Adds 10+ new plants, including chanterelles, prickly pears, and lavender.
  • Adds one new weather type: blizzards.
  • Makes arid biomes feature more arid vegetation, with debris-like plants and cacti dominating hostile desert areas.
  • Increases the amount of plant and animal life in boreal, forest, and swamp biomes, including mushrooms.
  • Adds flowering versions of some vanilla plants.
  • Adds compatibility and minor fixes for Snowy Trees by Nandonalt and Tejko.
  • Makes arid and cold biomes more hostile to settlement.

Future content updates are planned. Questions can be asked in the Suggestions Thread, and suggestions can be posted in the comments for review.

Add-ons and Recommended Mods

The Westerado Wilderness Mod suggests using all add-ons, but none of them are required.

  • Add-on: Horses: Adds horses.
  • Add-on: Westerado Gunslinger: Adds compatibility with Combat Extended.
  • Add-on: Westerado The Gun Jesus Revelations: Renames guns to their “proper” labels.
  • Recommended: Snowy Trees: Makes plants snowy when it snows.

Compatibility notes

The Westerado Wilderness Mod requires Westerado to work.

The Westerado Wilderness Mod should be loaded after Westerado. If you are using Snowy Trees by Nandonalt and Tejko, load it before Westerado.

Recommended loading order:

  1. Snowy Trees by Nandonalt and Tejko.
  2. Westerado.
  3. Westerado Wilderness Mod.
  4. Westerado Gunslinger.
  5. Westerado The Gun Jesus Revelations.

The Westerado Wilderness Mod should be compatible with anything that Westerado is compatible with. Mods that radically change vanilla biomes may cause problems.

If you find a compatibility issue, report it in the comments and include your mod list and any potential error messages.
