It transforms the world map into a far richer and more varied landscape by adding dozens of unique locations and environmental mutators, ensuring that exploration consistently reveals new challenges and discoveries.

Vanilla Landmarks Expanded Features

Vanilla Landmarks Expanded Mod expands the variety of world map locations and environmental mechanics, creating a more dynamic exploration experience.

  • 59 new landmarks: Introduces dozens of unique natural locations to discover across the world map.
  • 100 total world landmarks: Integrates seamlessly with vanilla locations and those added by the Odyssey DLC.
  • World mutators: Adds special environmental effects similar to genes, but applied to world tiles.
  • Diverse environments: Encounter areas such as Red Deserts, Quicksand Dunes, Laurel Forests, and Anima Groves.
  • Environmental challenges: Some locations introduce unique hazards like tornadoes or quicksand.
  • Enhanced exploration: Each new landmark provides distinctive gameplay conditions and environmental flavor.
  • Future expansion support: Planned add-ons will introduce man-made landmarks in addition to the natural ones.





FAQ

Will the new landmarks appear in my game?
Yes, they should appear when you generate a new world.

Can I add it to an ongoing save?
Yes, but you will need to generate landmarks on the world map again using the available developer command.

Can I disable some landmarks?
No, there is currently no option to disable specific landmarks.

Can mutators from these landmarks appear on tiles that are not landmarks?
Yes, mutators can appear on other tiles just like standard world mutators.

Do I need Odyssey DLC for this mod to work?
Yes. The mod relies on the landmark and mutator systems introduced in the Odyssey DLC.

Do Anima trees in Anima Groves scream when cut down?
No. Only the Ancient anima tree in that landmark will emit a scream, and it is the tree used for meditation.

Is this compatible with Geological Landforms, Smart Odyssey, or other biome mods?
Yes, it is compatible with those mods.

Compatibility notes

  • Odyssey DLC required: The Vanilla Landmarks Expanded Mod relies on the landmark and mutator systems introduced in the Odyssey DLC.
  • Better Map Sizes: This mod modifies the same code, which may cause conflicts.
  • Existing saves: The mod can be added to an ongoing save, but landmarks must be regenerated using the available developer command.
  • Landmark configuration: Individual landmarks cannot currently be disabled.
  • Biome compatibility: Compatible with mods such as Geological Landforms and Smart Odyssey.
