FAQs

A: Can I add it mid-playthrough to an existing save?
Yes, but it will have no effect since ideologies are generated on game start. You can still edit ideologies in dev mode.

Q: I don’t like a certain meme, can I remove it?
No. The mod is a bundled package. You can, however, use dev mode to disable unwanted precepts, roles or elements.

Q: I want more than 4 memes!
Check the mod options—there you can increase the number of memes, styles, relics, rituals and ideo buildings.

Q: Can I suggest a new meme?
Yes. Use the pinned Suggestions thread.

Q: Where should this mod be placed in the load order?
Below Ideology, the framework, and any mod explicitly requiring to be above it.

Q: Is it compatible with other mods that add memes?
It depends. If another mod edits the same components, conflicts may occur.

Q: Does it work with Combat Extended?
Potentially. Confirmation is still needed.

Q: Why were Taoism and Shinto merged?
The author explains this as a balance between available work-hours and thematic presence. Both faiths share many concepts, and given their small global following compared to larger religions, merging them allowed the creation of one richer, more complete structure instead of omitting them entirely.

Compatibility notes

Load order: Place under Ideology, the framework, and mods that require being above it.
Other meme mods: May conflict if they alter the same game components.
Combat Extended: Unconfirmed compatibility.
