The Terran’s Security Buildings Mod adds three StarCraft II-inspired security structures to RimWorld, along with a new resource used to power them and optional integrations with popular vehicle and space mods.
Terran’s Security Buildings Features
The Terran’s Security Buildings Mod introduces Chem-Gas (Vespene Gas) and several defensive buildings with configurable durability.
New resource
- Chem-Gas (Vespene Gas): Produced at the Biofuel Refinery using Uranium and Chemfuel.
New buildings
- Auto-turret: Airborne automatic turret for fixed-point defense. Requires Chem-Gas, can provide 160W power, and explodes when heavily damaged.
- Bunker: Fortification that holds up to four combatants, allowing them to fire outward from inside. Upgrades are WIP.
- Planetary Fortress: Heavy defensive fortress with the “Twin Ibiks Cannon”. Requires Chem-Gas, provides 2000W power, can function as a 2000W battery, gives a mood buff, and explodes when heavily damaged.
Targeting and settings
- All turrets can set forced targets manually.
- Building HP can be configured from 1 to 99999.
Compatibility notes
- Dependency: Harmony.
- Incompatible: Combat Extended (CE).
- S.R.T.S: Auto-turret and Planetary Fortress can be used as SRTS ships (including sending them to enemy bases).
- SOS2: Auto-turret and Planetary Fortress can use the HOVER function, but their flight relies on SRTS; SRTS ships may cause bugs in SOS2 world components.
- Known issue (RimWorld 1.2): Using the Bunker together with Shield Generators by Frontier Developments and Alpha Animals may prevent pawns from shooting while inside the bunker. This is caused by MVCF (part of Vanilla Expanded Framework).
- RimWorld 1.3: No compatibility issues currently reported.
- Language: Includes Japanese translation (by @Proxyer).
Support and troubleshooting
- Test whether the issue persists with only the Terran’s Security Buildings Mod (and its requirements) enabled.
- If it disappears, re-enable other mods gradually until the issue returns.
- Always share your log using the Log Uploader.
- For best support, use the Discord channel for error reporting (discussion threads may be missed).
- If you have the solution for a problem, post it to the GitHub repository.
- Use RimSort to sort your mods.
