[SYR] Essentials Mod: Stone Mod rebalances RimWorld’s stone types to give each material a clearer purpose, making stone selection more meaningful during both map choice and construction planning. It also improves the colors of granite and jade, and adds two new jade floor types.
[SYR] Essentials Mod: Stone Features
The [SYR] Essentials Mod: Stone Mod overhauls all stone types so each one has a more distinct role and tradeoff.
- Mining: All stone types are slightly easier to mine.
- Mass and sharp damage: All stone types now share the same mass and sharp damage values.
- Stonecutting speed: Cutting stone blocks is faster depending on the stone type.
- Granite visuals: Granite is recolored so it no longer looks too similar to sandstone.
- Jade visuals: Jade receives a minor recolor.
- New floors: Two new jade floor types are added.
Stone type roles
- Sandstone: Very fast to work with, but also the weakest stone type. It is ideal for quickly upgrading from wood structures.
- Granite: The durable counterpart to sandstone. It requires more work to build with, but provides the strongest structures.
- Limestone: A balanced all-rounder with average performance in every aspect.
- Slate: Offers a large beauty bonus, making it excellent for simple structures and furniture without inherent beauty. It is fast to work with but fragile, so it fits best in protected areas.
- Marble: Has a significant beauty multiplier, making it especially useful for sculptures and already beautiful structures. It is relatively strong, but more labor-intensive to use.
Compatibility notes
- Savegames – Adding: Safe, although some walls might be damaged because maximum HP values changed.
- Savegames – Removing: Safe.
- Incompatibilities: None.
