Coffee and Tea Mod adds coffee, tea, and hot chocolate to RimWorld, introducing new plants, beverages, and social dynamics. Colonists develop preferences, gain unique buffs, and experience mild addiction effects, adding depth to daily routines and colony interactions.
Coffee and Tea Features
This mod expands the food and drug system with flavorful beverages and meaningful gameplay effects.
Core mechanics
- New crops: Grow coffee and tea plants and process them into beverages.
- Unique buffs: Coffee and tea provide mutually exclusive effects that override each other.
- Caffeine system: Introduces a mildly addictive chemical with light withdrawal effects.
- Colonist preferences: Pawns become coffee or tea drinkers, affecting mood and relationships.
- Automatic selection: Pawns choose their preferred drink when both are available.
- Luxury joy type: Beverages provide joy through a new luxury category.
Beverage effects
- Coffee: Restores rest, increases hunger rate, reduces tiredness, boosts consciousness and work speed, and grants +6 mood to coffee drinkers. Becomes relatively addictive after 20% tolerance.
- Tea: Restores some food and rest, reduces hunger rate, increases learning speed, and grants +6 mood to tea drinkers. Less addictive, only after 30% tolerance.
- Hot chocolate: Restores some food, increases cold resistance, reduces heat resistance, and gives a strong +9 mood boost. Not addictive.
Compatibility notes
Adding and removing this mod is safe for existing save games.
There are no known incompatibilities.
If added to an existing save, beverages may not appear in the drug policy tab automatically. To fix this, go to the mod settings and use the “Add drug policies” button to manually add them.
When troubleshooting the Coffee and Tea Mod:
- See if the the error persists if you just have this mod and its requirements active.
- If not, try adding your other mods until it happens again.
- Always post your log using the Log Uploader.
