Suppression Mod Mod introduces a suppression mechanic to RimWorld, causing pawns under heavy fire to duck, slow down, and lose combat effectiveness instead of fighting at full capacity.
Suppression Mod Features
Core Mechanics
- Suppression hediff: Pawns gain a “Suppressed” condition when bullets impact near them.
- Combat penalties: Suppressed pawns move slower, aim worse, and aim more slowly.
- Gradual recovery: Suppression decreases over time when the pawn is no longer under fire.
- Weapon scaling: Automatic weapons suppress more effectively than single-shot weapons.
- Damage scaling: Higher-damage weapons (such as sniper rifles) generate significantly more suppression than pistols.
- Balanced tuning: Designed around LMG performance, where 2–3 bursts can suppress a single target.
The goal is to slightly slow down combat, reduce micromanagement, and reward concentrated fire or defensive positioning without drastically changing how fights work.
Configurable Options
- Ranged-only suppression: Option to apply suppression only to pawns using ranged weapons.
- Mood interaction: Higher mood reduces the chance of becoming suppressed.
- No HugsLib dependency: Removed legacy requirement.
