Soil Relocation Framework Mod

Author of the Soil Relocation Framework Mod: mlie

The Soil Relocation Framework Mod adds a Dig order that lets colonists extract terrain as resource items and place it back down through the Floors menu, allowing players to move soil, ice, sand, and similar terrain while preserving their original behavior.

Soil Relocation Framework Mod Features

The Soil Relocation Framework Mod lets you relocate terrain for farming, base design, fire prevention, water filling, and freezer setups.

  • Move fertile soil: Relocate scattered fertile soil patches into organized farming areas.
  • Remove soil from mountain bases: Clear soil to create consistent smoothable stone floors.
  • Bring soil to harsh biomes: Transport soil from other maps to deserts, ice sheets, or mountain bases for farming.
  • Create underground farms: Build greenhouses or farming areas inside mountain bases.
  • Use ice for cooling: Dig up ice and use stacks of it to help keep rooms cold, giving tribal and medieval colonies freezer options.
  • Prevent fire spread: Remove soil from selected areas to reduce fire propagation.
  • Fill water cells: Use soil to remove water cells, with cost and work time depending on the type of water.
  • Fill wet bridgeable terrain: Remove mud, marshy terrain, and similar wet terrain by filling it with soil.

The Soil Relocation Framework Mod also includes recipes to grind stone chunks, stone bricks, or multiple stone bricks into sand.

Stony soil requires only 1/3 of the material normally needed to fill water or wet bridgeable terrain, giving it an additional practical use.
