SlopedWalls Mod

Author of the SlopedWalls Mod: mlie

The SlopedWalls Mod adds climbable, sloped defensive walls (berms) that block line of sight but can be crossed, allowing for creative chokepoints, ambushes and tactical thresholds.

SlopedWalls Features

The SlopedWalls Mod introduces a new defensive structure type designed to control engagement range and positioning without breaking enemy AI behavior.

  • Climbable sloped walls: Block line of sight completely but can be climbed over.
  • No AI breaking: Enemies will traverse them normally if a walkable path exists.
  • No roof support: Cannot support roofs.
  • Slightly weaker than regular walls.
  • Cost: 4 resources (any material usable for walls).
  • Location: Found under the Structures tab.

Wall variants

  • Walls: Lower path cost, easier to cross and can be stood on. Pawns must stand near the edge to shoot off them. Edges provide no cover. No ranged bonus beyond safer positioning.
  • Ridges: Higher path cost per tile. Cannot be stood on. Pawns must fully cross before performing actions.

Integration

  • Adds matching reinforced wall/ridge when Vanilla Furniture Expanded – Spacer Module is loaded.
  • Can be safely added to or removed from saved games. For best results, deconstruct all sloped walls before removing the mod.

Compatibility notes

  • Compatible with saved games (safe to add/remove, but deconstruct before removal).
  • Optional visual integration with Vanilla Furniture Expanded – Spacer Module.
  • Known issue: Double-thick sloped walls covering entrances may confuse some attackers, causing them to stop advancing or attempt digging. Single-thick walls are recommended to avoid AI pathing issues.

Support and troubleshooting

  • Test whether the issue persists with only the SlopedWalls Mod (and required mods) enabled.
  • If it disappears, re-enable other mods gradually until the issue returns.
  • Always share your log using the Log Uploader.
  • For best support, use the Discord channel for error reporting (discussion threads may be missed).
  • If you have the solution for a problem, post it to the GitHub repository.
  • Use RimSort to sort your mods.
