Shoo! Mod adds a new designator that allows your colonists to harmlessly shoo wild animals away from your base. It provides a practical way to prevent pests from wandering into buildings or eating crops, while keeping interactions balanced and skill-dependent.
Shoo! Mod Features
- Shoo designator: Found in the Orders menu or when selecting a wild animal, assigns a Handling pawn to shoo animals away.
- Smart pathing: Animals inside your base will move through doors to exit if possible.
- Fence behavior: Animals remain blocked by fences but will use fence gates if available.
- Skill-based success: Larger and wilder animals are harder to shoo and depend on the pawn’s animal taming skill.
- Failure cooldown: Pawns must wait briefly before retrying if they fail to shoo an animal.
- Risk factor: Dangerous animals have a small chance to retaliate.
- Rebalanced mechanics: Shooing chance adjusted in 1.5 update for more consistent behavior across common animals, while still penalizing very large or untameable ones.
Compatibility notes
Version support: Supports RimWorld 1.5.
Save compatibility: Safe to add to ongoing games. Safe to remove provided:
- No pawns are currently shooing animals.
- No animals are marked for shooing.
- No animals are fleeing due to being shooed.
Harmony: Includes Harmony 2.0. No separate download required. Should not be used with mods relying on Harmony 1.* versions.
