mlieThe Room Sense Mod adds toggleable panels that display relevant room statistics such as beauty, cleanliness, and space using graphical meters and optional colored overlays. It provides a faster overview of what the environment inspection tool offers, letting you quickly assess the state of each room at a glance.
Room Sense Mod Features
- Quick visual overview: Displays key environmental stats (beauty, cleanliness, etc.) over rooms using graphical meters for fast assessment.
- Context-aware display: Only shows stats relevant to each room’s role. For instance, bedrooms display all stats, hospitals focus on space, beauty, and cleanliness, while storerooms and workshops show none since their condition doesn’t affect colonists’ thoughts.
- Colored heat map: An optional overlay color-codes rooms based on their “primary” stat (usually Impressiveness or an average of the relevant stats). You can enable or disable both the heat map and meter panels independently, and adjust their opacity in the Mod Settings.
- Interactive tooltips: Hover your mouse over any panel to see detailed stat information similar to the environment info panel.
- Segmented meters: Each meter corresponds to the game’s internal rating buckets (like “dull”, “mediocre”, “interesting”) and changes color — red, yellow, or green — depending on the stat’s value.
- Simple controls: The overlay can be toggled using a new button on the bottom-right tool dock (next to the environment and roof overlays), or with a configurable keyboard shortcut (default key: “=”).
- Click-through overlays: You can still interact with buildings and items underneath the overlay without disabling it.
- Save-friendly: Safe to add or remove from existing saves.
Compatibility notes
This version has removed the dependency on HugsLib Mod.
The colored overlay currently does not work on Linux due to a game-side issue preventing multi-colored overlays, but the stat panels remain fully functional.
