Finally, your silent pawns will speak! RimTalks adds realistic AI-driven dialogues between colonists using Gemini AI + Ollama (Primary and backup chatbot servers).

RimTalks AI ChatBot Mod features
- Authentic conversations based on pawn traits.
- Random chats while working (20% chance). Pawns even talk to themselves!
- Start a dialogue manually by selecting a pawn.
- Witty (and sometimes foul-mouthed xD) responses.
- HYBRID SETUP! The mod uses the free Gemini AI (uncensored), but if you hit the daily request limit (60/day), it automatically switches to a local Ollama server (offline mode). If you pay for Google AI, the local server is optional.
How to install
- Download the latest mod version and place the folder in RimWorld/Mods/
- Get a free Google AI API key here. Click on Create Credentials > API Key.
- Paste your key into API_GEMINIFLASH_KEY.txt in the mod’s root folder.
- For offline use (Ollama setup):
- Install Ollama.
- A Llama icon will appear on your desktop—launch it. This is your server shortcut. It runs silently in the background (check the Windows tray near the clock).
- Always launch it before playing (or add it to startup).
- Open Command Prompt (cmd) and run: ollama pull gemma3:4b
- After the model downloads, run the command ollama pull gemma3:4b again (sometimes it fails on the first try).
THAT’S IT! Launch RimWorld and play. A new “Talk” button will appear when selecting a pawn—choose who to address.
PS: Don’t forget to launch the Ollama Server if you’re not paying for Google AI. Otherwise, pawns will stop responding after hitting the daily request limit.
