The Rimrats Mod reintroduces rimrats as mischievous native pests that target your colony’s power infrastructure rather than your buildings.
Rimrats Features
The Rimrats Mod updates and improves the original concept with the following changes:
- Updated texture as requested.
- Rewrote biome definitions and thinktree logic into patch-based implementations.
- Rimrats now only attack power cables, no longer buildings.
- Attack behavior moved lower in the thinktree: rimrats will now flee, eat and perform basic tasks before targeting cables.
- Tamed rimrats will not attack cables.
Rimrats are native animals to the rimworlds and predate the wars fought there. During those conflicts, they were used in experiments to create bioengineered weapons that would invade enemy territory and explode upon death, later known as boomrats. Unlike boomrats, rimrats die naturally and pose only a minor threat as pests with a curious tendency to chew on electrical wiring.
Compatibility notes
- No specific dependencies listed.
- Designed to modify rimrat behavior without affecting unrelated systems.
