TL;DR: Less lag. Game runs smoother. Less strain on your computer—yay!
Red’s Performance Fixes Mod features
As of now, the Egg Layer Performance Mod swaps out just one particularly taxing Ludeon method. For example, egg-laying behavior no longer requires ticking and food need lookups every single tick, which was a major source of lag!
The title image shows the performance improvement. Believe it or not, that test was done with only one turkey on the map, with around 40 other pawns and animals. The original egg-laying method checks every Hediff and every gene for humans, calling expensive StatDefs and other frequently patched properties multiple times. This mod makes those unnecessary calls obsolete.

After: Performance stabilized with minimal calls, even after many ticks.

After patching: 77 chickens at TPS 900 (Speed 3 in RimWorld is 360 TPS). Taken while using several animal-related, Vanilla Expanded mods, Big & Small and sub-mods, and Humanoid Alien Races, all mods that normally challenge vanilla egg-laying comps.
Compatibility notes
No known compatibility issues. The Egg Layer Performance Mod should work with most mods, including Rocketman, Performance Fish, and similar mods. It only replaces egg-laying-progress-tracking in the vanilla method, so any derived subclasses won’t be affected. Most mods don’t subclass egg-laying, so they’ll benefit from this mod.
Instructions
Place this mod late in your modlist for optimal compatibility, especially if other mods patch egg-laying behavior in animals.
