Recoilless Rifle Mod adds a manned recoilless rifle turret that becomes available after researching mortars. It can fire a wide range of specialized shells, giving you a flexible support weapon for explosives, anti-armor attacks, smoke coverage, and crowd control.
Recoilless Rifle Features
Recoilless Rifle Mod introduces a buildable turret with the following characteristics:
- Manned weapon: The turret must be operated by a pawn.
- Line of fire restrictions: It cannot shoot over walls.
- Low muzzle velocity: Shots travel more slowly than standard high-velocity weapons.
- Build cost: 100 Steel and 3 Components.
- Research requirement: Unlocks after completing mortar research.
Ammunition types
- HE shell: A standard high-explosive shell that detonates on impact.
- Cluster bomb: Splits into 8 bomblets for wide area damage.
- Incendiary cluster bomb: Releases 20 small incendiary bombs.
- HEAT shell: A high explosive anti-tank round that deals extra damage on direct hits.
- Shotgun shell: Fires 100 pellets that disperse over longer distances.
- Canister shot: Uses a timed fuse and keeps the same bullet dispersion at any distance.
- Smoke shell: Creates smoke on impact and reduces the hit chance of bullets passing through it by 70%. It can also be used to burn targets.
- EMP shell: Effective against mechanoids and electrical targets.
- Armor piercing shell: A simple shell with improved armor penetration.
- Sabot round: A stronger anti-armor round with higher penetration.
Compatibility notes
Recoilless Rifle Mod is not compatible with Combat Extended. It is described as compatible with most other mods and can be added to existing save data.
