The Reclaim, Reuse, Recycle Mod lets you harvest implants and bionics from corpses and prepare them for reuse or sale. Instead of instantly gaining usable bionics, this mod adds a deeper, more balanced recycling workflow with new benches, research gates, success chances, and material costs.
Reclaim, Reuse, Recycle Mod Features
- Adds a new Harvesting Bench to extract artificial parts from corpses.
- Adds a Refurbishment Bench to clean and repair harvested parts for reuse or trade.
- Supports all vanilla and mod-added implants and bionics.
- Harvesting can fail, using the same success chances as medical operations and mechanoid disassembly.
- Encourages meaningful choices instead of instant bionic acquisition.
Research integration
Part harvesting and refurbishment are locked behind tiered research projects, requiring technological progression before advanced recycling becomes possible.
Harvested parts
Harvested implants fall into different states depending on their condition:
- Non-Sterile: Requires medicine to clean before reuse.
- Mangled: Requires medicine plus additional basic materials to repair.
The thresholds that determine these outcomes can be configured in the mod settings.
Part complexity
Reclaimable parts are divided into three complexity tiers:
- Primitive: Animal to Medieval tech level.
- Advanced: Industrial to Spacer tech level.
- Glittertech: Ultra-tech and above.
Complexity is determined by tech level and additional factors such as market value, ensuring broad compatibility with parts from other mods.
Changes to vanilla gameplay
- Adds new corpse stockpile and ingredient filters based on contained implants and complexity tiers.
- Modifies the default vanilla Butcher corpse recipe to only target corpses without implants.
- You can manually re-enable butchering of corpses with implants if desired.
Compatibility notes
- Load order does not matter.
- Safe to install mid-save.
- To uninstall, remove all reclaimed parts and cancel all harvesting or refurbishment bills before disabling the mod.
- Red error messages may appear on first load after removal but will disappear on subsequent loads.
- If a third-party mod that adds base implants is removed, any reclaimed parts from that mod must be disposed of first.
- If errors occur, test with only the Reclaim, Reuse, Recycle Mod and its requirements enabled.
- Always upload logs using the Log Uploader and report issues through the Discord channel.
- Do not report errors via discussion threads, as the author does not receive notifications.
- Use RimSort to maintain a clean and stable load order.
