mlieThe Pyromaniac Is Fun Mod overhauls the Pyromaniac trait to make it engaging and mechanically unique instead of purely negative. It introduces new systems, combat interactions, and configurable mechanics that encourage alternative play styles.
Pyromaniac Is Fun Features
The Pyromaniac Is Fun Mod is part of the “Traits Are Fun” series and focuses on turning Pyromaniac into a dynamic and customizable trait. It works best with the Royalty DLC installed.
Fire Need system (Royalty required)
- Adds a Fire need bar for pyromaniacs.
- Mood offsets depend on the Fire bar level.
- The Fire bar drops gradually over time.
- The Fire bar increases when:
- Meditating on flames, with speed proportional to focus strength.
- Observing wildfires or burning pawns for a short duration, scaling with number of observations.
- The pawn is on fire.
Pyromania threshold
- Adds a pyromania threshold indicator below the mood bar.
- Lower (further left) is better.
- If mood is above the threshold, “fire starting spree” will not trigger.
- A longer Fire need bar lowers the pyromania threshold, making breaks less likely.
Combat mechanics
- Fire arrows: Pyromaniacs carrying bows have a chance to shoot fire arrows.
- Fire arrows deal +10 flame damage in addition to base damage and may ignite targets.
- Each fire arrow shot reduces the Fire need bar.
- Igniting melee attacks: Melee attacks have a chance to ignite targets.
- Igniting melee deals 10 flame damage and reduces the Fire need bar.
- No forced miss radius when using certain incendiary ranged weapons (e.g. incendiary launcher), allowing more accurate fire attacks.
- No mood bonus from simply carrying incendiary weapons; mood checks are based on projectile damage type.
Be cautious: enemy pyromaniacs can also shoot fire arrows and ignite in melee, making tribal raids especially dangerous.
Customization
- Most values can be modified in game settings or via XML.
- You can set fire attack chance up to 100%.
- You can reduce Fire bar consumption to 0.
