mlieThe Precepts and Memes Mod expands RimWorld ideologies with new precepts, memes and optional ritual content to add more personality and strategic variety to your colony beliefs.
ATTENTION: All rituals have been moved to a separate Rituals mod due to additional dependencies. That mod still requires the Precepts and Memes Mod to function fully.
Precepts and Memes Features
New precepts
- Population: Choose small or large population focus. Provides bonuses or penalties depending on colony size (below or above 5 colonists).
- Trading: Honored or Respected. Improves trade prices but requires regular trading to avoid penalties. Also applies a global work speed penalty. Requires the Traders meme.
- Death: Don’t Care or Revered. Don’t Care removes concern over colonist deaths. Revered grants a mood buff when a colonist dies. Both apply a tending penalty.
New memes
- Necrolatry: Focused on death. Grants access to melee and shooting specialists and unlocks Death: Revered.
- Traders: Trade is paramount, charity is not. Unlocks trading-related precepts.
- Altruism: Charity is important or better and blocks most “bad people” precepts.
Ritual (now separate mod)
- Colonist Duel: Allows two colonists and/or slaves to fight each other. Now included in the separate Rituals mod.
If the previous update caused issues, the original version can be restored by removing this one and adjusting your load order accordingly.
Note: If you use other precept mods and encounter XML exclusion tag errors, they are harmless and can be ignored.
Source files are included and may be reused with proper credit.
Compatibility notes
- Ritual content has been moved to a separate Rituals mod (required for duel ritual).
- May show harmless XML exclusion errors when used alongside other precept mods.
Support and troubleshooting
- Test whether the issue persists with only the Precepts and Memes Mod (and required mods) enabled.
- If it disappears, re-enable other mods gradually until the issue returns.
- Always share your log using the Log Uploader.
- For best support, use the Discord channel for error reporting (discussion threads may be missed).
