- Is there a performance impact? No. The code behind the Perspective: Eaves Mod only runs for 1 tick whenever the sun casting layer data is redrawn, which only happens when something is built or removed.
Compatibility notes
As a purely graphical mod, the Perspective: Eaves Mod can be added or removed at any time and does not touch your save file.
The Perspective: Eaves Mod should work with any roof mods, although transparent roofs will receive the same shadowing transparency.
Known issue: outdoor roofs will show weather as passing through them. This means that in outdoor roofed areas, such as covered bridges, rain effects may appear to move through the roof. This is a technical limitation related to how RimWorld shadowing works. This issue does not apply to natural roofs, such as cave roofs.
Possible workarounds for outdoor covered areas include replacing the roofing with natural roofs, such as thin rock using dev mode, or using an invisible door mod to section off the area so the game treats it as indoors.
When troubleshooting the Perspective: Eaves Mod:
- See if the error persists if you only have this mod and its requirements active.
- If not, try adding your other mods until it happens again.
