Offspring Inherit Xenogenes Mod modifies RimWorld’s gene inheritance system to allow xenogenes (artificial genes) to be passed down to offspring, following the same inheritance logic as vanilla endogenes.
Offspring Inherit Xenogenes Mod Features
- Xenogene inheritance: The Offspring Inherit Xenogenes Mod allows xenogenes to be inherited by offspring, with a 50% chance if one parent has the gene and 100% if both do.
- Archite gene inheritance: Archite genes, which are normally impossible to inherit, can now be passed on using a probability formula based on gene complexity.
- Configurable settings: All inheritance values in the Offspring Inherit Xenogenes Mod can be customized through mod options.
- Vanilla logic preserved: The Offspring Inherit Xenogenes Mod keeps vanilla metabolism restrictions, which may prevent certain genes from being inherited depending on the pawn’s metabolism range.
- Compatible with existing systems: The inheritance mechanics integrate seamlessly with RimWorld’s existing gene system.
Compatibility notes
- Save compatibility: The Offspring Inherit Xenogenes Mod can be safely added to or removed from existing saves.
- Pregnancy limitation: Gene inheritance is determined at conception, so adding the Offspring Inherit Xenogenes Mod during an existing pregnancy will not affect the baby.
- Vanilla mechanics: Some genes may not be inherited due to vanilla metabolism limits, not due to the mod itself.
