JetPack Mod adds jet pack equipment, armour-integrated variants, new fuel options, and related utility items that let pawns traverse terrain by jumping over obstacles. It also includes multiple gameplay settings, compatibility support for several other mods, and additional features such as booster packs, jump suits, and fuel refinement.
JetPack Features
- Jet pack equipment: Adds a craftable jet pack that allows pawns to jump across terrain once researched.
- Armour-integrated jet packs: Adds Marine power armour variants with built-in jet packs.
- Jump controls: Equipping a jet pack gives pawns a Jump button and a refuel button, usable while drafted or undrafted.
- Fuel system: Jet packs require fuel and can be manually or automatically refuelled.
- Fuel types: Supports Chemfuel, Hydrogen Peroxide, and Kerosene, with increasing efficiency in that order.
- Kerosene production: Adds Kerosene as a fuel that can be distilled from Chemfuel at the biofuel refinery.
- Booster pack: Adds a variant focused on lateral movement, with lower jump range, higher speed, and slightly reduced fuel capacity.
- Jump Suit: Adds a fire-retardant underlayer garment designed to protect against heat and flames.
- Armour conversion recipes: Includes recipes to convert standard power armour into jet pack versions.
- Simple FX support: Adds support for Simple FX: Smoke.
How jet packs work
- Jump range: Each jet pack has a minimum and maximum jump range, also affected by available fuel.
- Jump preview: Hovering over the jump button shows two circles indicating the valid jump area.
- Jump restrictions: Pawns cannot jump from under a roof, into blocked or dangerous locations, or while engaged in melee combat.
- Refuelling task: The refuel command allows AI pawns to fetch valid fuel automatically and refill the pack.
- Fuel management: The refuelling system also allows switching fuel types and dumping stored fuel.
- Apparel slot: The standalone jet pack uses the “Outer, waist” body area for better compatibility with other clothing.
- Slow burn mode: Jet packs can optionally boost ground movement speed while slowly consuming fuel.
- Safety suspension: Slow burn automatically pauses while the pawn is lying down and resumes when the stance changes.
- Damage risk: Damaged jet packs can explode when used below 33% health, with explosion severity affected by damage and stored fuel.
- Load impact: Carrying capacity can optionally influence jump range and fuel consumption.
Mod options
- Exclude the use of WMDs and heavy weapons with jet packs.
- Apply DFA (Death From Above) beta effects, including possible pilot injury and friendly-fire risk.
- Allow roof punching, with a slight chance of injury to the pilot.
- Allow a small chance to ignite flammable terrain on takeoff.
- Enable slow burn mode for movement speed boosts on the ground.
- Enable jet pack explosions when operating damaged packs.
- Configure auto-refuel and the fuel threshold for automatic refuelling.
- Apply carrying capacity effects to jump range and fuel use.
Compatibility notes
- Save compatibility: JetPack Mod can be added to existing save games.
- Removal warning: Removing JetPack Mod requires all added buildings and items to be removed first, and it is not recommended while a pilot is airborne.
- Rendering issues: The standalone jet pack can cause some visual issues with certain apparel, especially flak jackets and overcoats.
- Apparel restrictions: Pawns cannot wear more than one item classified as a jet pack at the same time.
- RPG Style Inventory: Individual jet packs are supported in a unique slot when using RPG Style Inventory.
- Tactical Charged Gear: Adds a Tactical Charged Gear version of the jump pack when Tactical Charged Gear is installed.
- Medical Supplements: When combined with Tactical Charged Gear and Medical Supplements, Hydrogen Peroxide becomes available as a longer-lasting and more efficient fuel.
- Rimefeller: Adds a refiner to produce Kerosene when using Rimefeller.
- Infused: Armour conversion recipes do not transfer existing infusion properties, but newly created jet pack armours can still gain infusions normally.
- Supported external items: Supports jet pack items from Star Wars Jango and Boba Fett.
- Language support: Includes Japanese translation.
