Ivory and Jade Carving Mod Features
The Ivory and Jade Carving Mod includes:
- Unfinished things and slightly increased sculpting time.
- Thrumbo horn support.
- Wood costs for stands.
- Chandeliers.
- Carvings that can be placed on tables and shelves.
You can engrave elephant tusks with artwork, increasing their value and giving them an art description. You can place them in a colonist’s room for a moderate beauty buff, but selling them is probably your best option.
You can also carve an elephant tusk into three ivory figures. These do not have quality levels and can stack up to 75. The three figures are more valuable than a Normal-quality engraved tusk, but less valuable than a Good-quality engraved tusk, so the best choice depends on your artist’s skill and available storage space. Ivory figures work similarly to silver, as their main purpose is bartering.
For jade carving, you can make jade urns. These are the jade equivalent of ivory figures, and each urn requires one jade. Urns are twice as valuable as jade itself, though they require some carving work.
You can also make a jade band, a bracelet that uses one piece of jade and has quality levels like engraved tusks. It can be worn by all colonists and gives a small boost to negotiating and bartering, at 15% and 5% respectively. It uses the same clothing layer as a smokepop belt or shield belt, and colonists need arms to wear it.
