Faction to Empires Mod

Author of the Faction to Empires Mod: mlie

Faction to Empires Mod lets you turn selected factions or races into empire-style factions, including factions added by other mods. These new empires can grant royal favor quests, royal titles, trade access, escorts, guards, guests, and naturally generated pawns with appropriate royal roles.

Faction to Empires Mod Features

The Faction to Empires Mod allows you to choose which factions become empires through the mod options. You can apply it to any faction or race, including races added by other mods, and become a member of their royal family.

  • Custom empire factions: Turn any faction or selected factions into empire-style factions.
  • Royal favor quests: Empire factions can give quests that reward royal favor.
  • Royal titles: Once you gain a title from an empire, you can trade with them and call escorts.
  • Empire pawns: Pawns from each empire can appear naturally with royal titles.
  • Automated pawn selection: Guards and guests are automatically selected from pawns owned by the faction, helping each empire feel more natural.
  • Faction rewards: The mod description mentions different rewards for each empire, including special techprints generated automatically by default and controlled through options.
  • Additional empire events: The mod description also mentions starting events, deserter events, and Royal Ascent quests for each faction.

The Faction to Empires Mod also includes options related to enemy psycast use, tributes for factions, removing the vanilla empire, and bug resolution for faction quests.

Compatibility notes

The Faction to Empires Mod is incompatible with:

  • Hospitality Mod.
  • Ferian Faction Mod.
  • Lapelli Faction Mod.

Save files are not compatible. Changing the mod options does not apply to existing save games, and RimWorld must be restarted after changing the options.

To apply the Faction to Empires Mod correctly:

  1. Set the options for the Faction to Empires Mod in the Options menu.
  2. Restart RimWorld.
  3. Start a new game.

The Faction to Empires Mod should be loaded after all faction mods.

If a modded faction does not wear vanilla clothes and does not have royal apparel, that race’s mood debuff cannot be resolved. In that case, turn off the “royal need royal’s apparel” option.

Some factions can cause a bug where the quest content does not appear. To fix this, set the faction to “Empire : Bug Resolution” in the options. If this does not work, disable that faction in the options so it does not become an empire.

Turn off Rimsenal Mod‘s “make empire” option. If you make it an empire, you will get an error.

When troubleshooting the Faction to Empires Mod:

  • See if the error persists if you just have this mod and its requirements active.
  • If not, try adding your other mods until it happens again.
  • Always post your log using the Log Uploader.
  • For best support, please use the Discord-channel for error-reporting.
  • Do not report errors by making a discussion-thread, I get no notification of that.
